We loved our stay and what a view: spectacular!!! It was wonderful to see all the wildlife in the garden: toucans, monkeys and so many birds. Just be aware that the house is in the favela, which means taxis/Ubers don't want to pick up or drop off passengers. We used inDrive, which was better, but they weren't always willing to come and get us or drop us off. It's still a superb house, but there are some restrictions because of the location. That said, we wouldn't have stayed anywhere else. The Homecare team is very responsive to every request. It's very pleasant to have daily cleaning and a change of towels and bed linen every 5 days. Thank you for an excellent stay.

Thank you so much, the house was beautiful — a little hidden but a real gem. The view was incredible, big house. The host was very accommodating and constantly made sure we were taken care of. It was an excellent experience, I would book this exact place again. Close to the beach, and there's a fantastic sushi restaurant nearby. Thanks again to the hosts, you did a fantastic job.

This was a beautiful Airbnb. The host was very responsive, helpful and made the stay very welcoming. The property was clean, comfortable and had a lovely pool that made the experience even better. The people in the neighbourhood were friendly, and we felt safe and at ease throughout our stay. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The stay was pleasant; just know that there is no air conditioning in the living room, but there are fans and windows. The bedrooms had air conditioning.

We were delighted with our stay at Matheus's. To be completely honest, when we realised the house was at the bottom of the Vidigal favela we weren't very reassured or very excited — and in the end it was a brilliant experience! The residents are super friendly and supportive, there's an atmosphere like nowhere else, and contrary to received ideas it's ultra safe — much safer for tourists than Copacabana or Ipanema, which are wealthy neighbourhoods. The house is renovated and tastefully furnished, the small garden and the pool (though too cold in that season to swim) were very pleasant, and the view! Matheus was always super responsive to every message and very welcoming. I recommend this place without hesitation!
