Is it safe to stay in Vidigal?
Yes, with the usual South Zone precautions. Vidigal has been pacified since 2011 and is visited daily. The house is at the entrance of the neighborhood, on the road to Leblon, and a caretaker couple lives on site. Several guests wrote they felt safer here than in Copacabana or Ipanema.
How do we get there from the airport?
About 35 minutes with the house's private driver: R$130 for 3 people with luggage, name sign on arrival. Uber, 99 and taxis drop you at Vidigal square, a 6-minute walk from the house.
Is the pool really private?
Yes. It belongs to the house, not to a building: no neighbors, no schedule. It is not heated; in the southern winter (June–August) the water is cool.
